ABOUT HEATHER
LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT!
I grew up in the North East of England and went to university in Hull to study Zoology. After a career in university administration at Manchester University and a stint helping students get work experience and job placements while they studied, I re-trained in Barcelona to be an English teacher. With my CELTA teaching certificate I headed off to Mexico where I taught mainly in-company business English and a little IELTS preparation. From there I went to Saudi Arabia, then Vietnam and lastly China teaching in a variety of language school, colleges and universities. It was in Vietnam that I started practicing yoga in earnest and decided to go to Rishikesh, India to learn to be a yoga teacher.
Highlights: Taking a year out from work to compete in the Clipper around the World Yacht Race – 16 races to 16 countries over a period of 12 months. Motorcycling 12,000 miles in 2 months across the US with a friend, being the cook on a motor yacht in Central America and learning to teach yoga in India.
